The Biden administration is ramping up enforcement after years of steady decline, the White House’s top environmental enforcers said Thursday.
The fiscal 2023 omnibus spending package, coupled with the passage of last year’s climate bill, is pouring more than $100 million in new resources into the EPA’s enforcement office this year, according to David Uhlmann, President Joe Biden’s pick to lead the Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance.
