DENVER—Frontier Refining Inc. has agreed to pay a total of $1.9 million in penalties and compliance costs in a settlement of hazardous waste violations at a petroleum facility in Cheyenne, Wyo., the Environmental Protection Agency said June 8.
At an estimated cost of $1 million, Frontier will remove and manage all wastes released into a surface impoundment at the facility, according to EPA. In addition, Frontier will pay a $900,000 penalty under an administrative consent agreement, Mike Risner, director of enforcement in EPA’s Region 8 office in Denver, told BNA.
