The former chief executive officer of a Canadian waste disposal company must serve a 63-month federal prison term for his role in a subcontractor kickback scheme at a New Jersey Superfund site, a federal court ruled (United States v. McDonald, D.N.J., 09-cr-00656, sentencing 8/9/16).
John Bennett, of Vancouver, British Columbia, the former CEO of Bennett Environmental Inc., also was ordered by the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey Aug. 9 to pay $3.8 million in restitution and a $12,500 criminal fine.
