Former Chemical Industry, White House Adviser Moves Up at EPA

The EPA has given Nancy Beck, who’s been advising the chemical and pesticides office, a more senior position.

The Environmental Protection Agency on Thursday listed Beck, a toxicologist, as principal deputy assistant administrator in an agency directory listing top Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention (OCSPP) officials. That’s a step up from the senior adviser position she held as recently as Wednesday.

A White House spokesperson didn’t reply to a question about who may fill the top slot in the OCSPP, which oversees both chemicals and pesticides, but Beck’s promotion puts past industry advisers in key positions.
