Forest Service Hit With Another Logging Suit Over Montana Plan

The US Forest Service authorized extensive logging and burning in the Flathead National Forest without adequately reviewing impacts on endangered species or the environment, groups allege in a new lawsuit.

Native Ecosystems Council, Alliance for the Wild Rockies, and other groups say the Tally Lake District Ranger approved the 12,300-acre Cyclone Bill Project without disclosing how increased road construction and traffic in this area will disturb the endangered grizzly bear migration patterns and Canadian lynx populations, according to a complaint filed Monday in the US District Court for the District of Montana.
