Ford Agrees to Revise Mileage Label on C-Max Hybrid

Ford Motor Co. will voluntarily revise the advertised fuel economy for its 2013 C-Max hybrid vehicle after Environmental Protection Agency testing found it did not achieve the 47 miles per gallon advertised, the agency said Aug. 15. EPA tested the vehicle in response to consumer complaints. EPA testing found the C-Max only achieved between 40 mpg and 42 mpg. Ford had tested the fuel economy of the C-Max using its Ford Fusion hybrid model, which has the same engine, transmission, and weight as the C-Max.
