Fluoride can decrease children’s IQ, according to a newly released federal human health report.
That conclusion is primarily based on studies of people exposed to concentrations of fluoride higher than what’s in U.S. drinking water, said the draft analysis from the National Toxicology Program, part of the Department of Health and Human Services.
The science is unclear on whether the amount of fluoride in drinking water could harm thinking, reasoning, or remembering, the report said.
