Florida’s legislature passed a law banning fluoride in drinking water, a move that advances growing skepticism among conservative lawmakers towards long-accepted dental hygiene.

Governor Ron DeSantis is expected to sign the measure into law, making Florida the second state to prevent the substance from being added to drinking water. US Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., one of the most vocal critics of fluoridation, recently instructed the Centers for Disease Control to change its guidance around the issue.
