Florida’s oyster industry troubles aren’t proved to be caused by upstream Georgia’s water usage, and so Florida’s petition for the Supreme Court to limit Georgia should be denied, wrote a federal judge appointed to oversee the case.
The judge’s Dec. 11 action is the latest decision in a long-running dispute over water supplies in the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint River Basin, which provides water to metro Atlanta and south Georgia farmland on its way to the Florida panhandle and the Gulf of Mexico.
