Five chemicals used to make paint, plastic, pipes, and other products were placed into an EPA process Thursday that could lead to restrictions or a determination that no further action is needed.
The Environmental Protection Agency announced it will prioritize the chemicals—acetaldehyde, acrylonitrile, benzenamine, 4,4’-methylene bis(2-chloroaniline) (MBOCA), and vinyl chloride—for review and decide whether they’re high priorities for risk evaluation under the nation’s primary commercial chemicals safety law.
