Construction of an offshore wind energy project near Nantucket, Mass., should be immediately halted as to not endanger the local fishing economy, fishing groups said in a request for a preliminary injunction.
“The construction and operation of the Vineyard Wind project is proceeding at a pace that will make fishing in the lease area impossible when the commercial fishing starts in or about late May,” fishermen said. “Without a stay or injunction, the plaintiffs will suffer irreparable harm.”
