Fisheries Service Must Redo Analysis of Oil Terminals, Suit Says

Environmental groups are challenging the National Marine Fisheries Service’s biological opinion looking at how two deepwater crude oil export terminals in the Gulf of Mexico will affect protected species and their habitats.

The agency’s review of the Sea Port Oil Terminal and Texas GulfLink Deepwater Port Project “is riddled with inadequate analyses and flaws” in violation of the Endangered Species Act, the complaint filed with the US District Court for the District of Maryland said Wednesday.
