FERC Ordered to Look Again at Texas LNG Project Approvals (2)

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission must take another look at decisions reauthorizing two liquefied natural gas terminals and a pipeline in Texas following a Tuesday ruling by the D.C. Circuit.

The appellate court remanded the cases without vacating FERC’s approvals, saying the procedural steps it skipped were “important,” but not fundamental. The move gives developers hope to see their projects completed.

“We appreciate the court’s decision to revise its August opinion, removing any potential vacatur,” said a spokesperson from Glenfarne Energy Transition, which manages Texas LNG, one of the companies involved.
