The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has legal authority to weigh “reasonably foreseeable” greenhouse gas emissions as it reviews proposed natural gas projects, commission chairman Richard Glick said Friday.
“I think what we’re doing here is creating greater certainty for industry,” said Glick, a Democrat, at the start of a daylong technical conference. He cited the “numerous” recent court decisions that have vacated or remanded the commission’s natural gas certificates.
