A cross-agency strategy to reduce or even eradicate lead exposure among children is still on track to be released this summer, EPA officials said April 20.
Dr. Ruth Etzel, director of the Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Children’s Health Protection, said the strategy could come out as early as June if it doesn’t hit any snags when it goes for review to the White House’s Office of Management and Budget. A stop at OMB is typically one of the final steps before a proposal is released for public review.
