President Barack Obama sought to calm some of the uncertainty stemming from the presidential election by describing the movement of the federal government as an ocean liner, rather than a speedboat.
“It took a lot of really hard work for us to make significant policy changes, even in our first two years, when we had larger majorities than [President-elect Donald] Trump will enjoy when he comes into office,” Obama told reporters at a press conference at the White House.
