Federal workers must rent electric vehicles and use rail travel and public transit as much as possible under new guidance the Biden administration rolled out on Thursday.
The announcement is the White House’s latest bid to use its own assets as an example for the rest of the nation, which has been slow to adopt low-carbon transportation options in many places.
The move could also put a meaningful dent in the nation’s carbon emissions because of the sheer amount of travel that will be affected by the policy.
