Conservation Law Foundation Inc. and other environmental groups claimed National Grid USA and its affiliates have mismanaged their pipeline system, leading to natural gas leaks and environmental damage.
The pipeline system “leaks methane chronically” due to the utility companies’ “use of unreliable pipeline materials” and their “unhurried approach to detection and repair,” said the complaint filed with the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts on Tuesday.
