A fast-moving brush fire in Southern California’s Simi Valley is rapidly growing, prompting evacuations as high winds fuel the blaze.
The Sandy Fire had consumed almost 1,400 acres as of 7:20 p.m. local time on Monday, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, nearly doubling in size over two hours. Fire personnel were responding to the blaze that’s threatening structures in the Sandy Avenue area in Simi Valley, officials said.
