Farmworkers Get Updated Pesticide Training With New EPA Guidance

Farmworkers will get updated training on handling pesticides after the EPA June 14 released long-sought updates to the requirements.

The Environmental Protection Agency announced plans to publish the training materials under its updated pesticide handling standard—a set of regulations issued in 2015 to help workers avoid illness and injury on the job—required under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act’s Worker Protection Standard. It said the revision was “to implement more protections from pesticide exposure incidents for agricultural workers, handlers, and their families.”
