Fargo Dumped E. Coli-Polluted Water Into Red River, Suit Claims

Fargo, N.D. has repeatedly dumped wastewater polluted with E. coli into the Red River for years, an environmental group alleged in a complaint filed in federal court.

Citizens for a Clean Environment LLC gave Fargo notice that it intended to file suit under the Clean Water Act in September 2022, claiming that the city violated National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit limits for E. coli, suspended solids, biochemical oxygen demand levels, and pH levels.
