A Falun Gong compound in New York escaped claims that it contaminated the surrounding waterways with impermissible levels of fecal coliform bacteria, when a federal judge dismissed an environmental nonprofit’s suit.
Mid-New York Environmental and Sustainability Promotion Committee Inc., doing business as NYenironcom, sued Dragon Springs Buddhist Inc., alleging that it violated the Clean Water Act and state law by discharging pollutants in wastewater and storm water well beyond the limits of its permits and applicable law into the Basher Kill and Neversink Rivers, which in turn empty into the Delaware River.
