Exxon Mobil Corp. pledged to rapidly expand its emissions-reduction projects in an attempt to build energy transition credibility two years after a shareholder rebellion ousted three directors from its board.

Efforts to decarbonize Exxon’s refineries and petrochemical plants, as well as those of others, through hydrogen and carbon capture are “moving off a PowerPoint and into execution,” Dan Ammann, Exxon’s president of Low Carbon Solutions, said in an interview.
