Exxon Mobil Loses Connecticut Court Bid to Scrap Climate Lawsuit

A Connecticut state judge dismissed attempts by Exxon Mobil Corp. to have the state’s climate tort lawsuit tossed, paving the way for another potential trial over alleged climate deception.

Connecticut’s claims that Exxon deceived state consumers about the impacts of fossil fuels on climate change aren’t preempted by federal law, according to the decision issued Nov. 26 at the Connecticut Superior Court in Hartford.
