Exxon’s $14 Million Fine in Refinery Pollution Suit Upheld (1)

Exxon Mobil Corp. is still on the hook for millions of dollars of damages over pollution claims at one of its Texas facilities, according to a decision issued Tuesday by a circuit panel.

The citizen suit—brought by the Sierra Club and other groups on behalf of Baytown, Texas residents—has moved between federal district and appellate courts over whether the pollution violations can be traced to Exxon.
