Bipartisan groups of former high-ranking federal officials expressed support Monday for the nominations of Janet McCabe for the second-highest position at the EPA and Brenda Mallory to lead the Council on Environmental Quality.
The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee has scheduled a March 3 hearing on the two nominees.
Nine former Environmental Protection Agency deputy administrators—the job McCabe now seeks—told the committee that she “fully understands” the roles the public and private sector play in protecting the environment.
