Everglades Restoration Sees More Planning Than Progress, Research Council Reports

Nearly 15 years since the launch of the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan, the South Florida region is still seeing more planning than actual restoration work, a June 27 National Academy of Sciences report to Congress said.

The biennial report, “Progress Toward Restoring the Everglades,” by the NAS’s National Research Council, evaluated the multi-billion-dollar joint effort between Florida and the federal government, with a particular focus on the past two years.
