Rivian, Energy Researchers Call for U.S. Critical Mineral Aid

Electric vehicle manufacturers and researchers urged lawmakers Thursday to help improve the domestic supply of the critical minerals needed for batteries.

With rising demand for EVs intensifying the pressure on already stressed supply chains for critical minerals, the industry is calling for incentives for U.S. semiconductor production, domestic mining of minerals such as lithium and cobalt, more money for research, and visas for engineers.
