European Parliament Backs EU Carbon-Neutral Greenhouse Gas Plan

The European Parliament on March 14 threw its weight behind the idea that the European Union should become a carbon-neutral greenhouse gas emissions economy by 2050.

Sitting in Strasbourg, France, the parliament’s members voted 369 to 166, with 40 abstentions, for a resolution in favor of the goal, which, if formally adopted, would mean the EU would make a decisive move away from fossil fuels.
