EU, U.S. Negotiators Will Try to Advance TTIP Priorities in Next Round of Talks

During the second round of Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) talks between the U.S. and the European Union, trade negotiators will try to overcome a difference in priorities on eliminating technical trade barriers and establishing new rulemaking procedures.

At the talks in Brussels, originally scheduled Oct. 7-11 but postponed at President Barack Obama’s request due to the U.S. federal government shutdown (See related story this issue), negotiators will confront a range of differences, including the scope of financial services, EU demands that the audio-visual sector be excluded and geographic indications be included and insistence that a chapter on public ...
