EU Chemicals Agency Publishes Guidance On Exemptions for Substances in Research

The European Chemicals Agency published updated guidance Nov. 27 on exemptions from the requirements of the European Union’s REACH chemicals law for substances that are used in scientific research, and in product and process orientated research and development (PPORD).

REACH allows a range of exemptions for manufacturers or importers if their substances are produced or imported in low volumes and are destined solely for controlled use in scientific research and development.
