EPA’s Truck Emissions Rules Challenged by Republican-Led States

A coalition of Republican top attorneys sued the Environmental Protection Agency on Monday over emission limits for heavy-duty trucks.

The recently finalized mandate will effectively force manufacturers and drivers to electrify the heavy truck industry when the infrastructure isn’t there yet, according to the states who are suing.

Nebraska Attorney General Mike Hilgers (R) leads Alabama, West Virginia, Florida, and more than 20 other states in the suit, which was filed at the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. Many of those same states also launched a legal challenge against California’s own heavy truck regulations.
