EPA’s New Science Advisory Board Head Wants to Sidestep Policy

The new head of the EPA’s Science Advisory Board wants the influential panel to strive harder to stick to the science, and avoid policy debates.

But in his first interview since getting appointed to a three-year term on Wednesday, John Graham also said he doesn’t see the need for a sweeping overhaul in the board’s operations. That comes despite calls for reform from environmentalists, who say the board has become too politicized amid a series of high-profile conflicts with the Trump administration.
