The Eleventh Circuit should evaluate a new Environmental Protection Agency rule that would eliminate chrysotile asbestos used by chlorine manufacturers, the American Chemistry Council and and other industry groups said in petitions for review.
The March 18 final rule would immediately ban the import of chrysotile asbestos, the only known form of asbestos currently used in the US, and phase out other asbestos-containing products.
