EPA’s Delay to Greenhouse Gas Reporting Deadline Draws Challenge

The Environmental Defense Fund on Friday sued the Environmental Protection Agency in the D.C. Circuit under the Clean Air Act for its final rule extending the greenhouse gas reporting deadline for 2024.

“Earlier this year, under Administrator Lee Zeldin, EPA shut down the program’s reporting portal for over a month without explanation,” the group said in a press release. The agency “then unlawfully extended the reporting deadline without taking any public comment.”
