EPA Would Get Record Funding to Address Climate in Senate Bill

The EPA would get an 11.3% increase over its current level, with record-setting amounts for environmental justice programs, under a fiscal 2023 spending bill rolled out by Senate Democrats on Thursday.

The $10.6 billion included in the draft measure released by the Senate Appropriations Committee is shy of the $11.9 billion the White House asked for in its March budget request, but would still represent a record amount for the agency.
