EPA Union Files Two Grievances Over Return to Office Edict

The EPA’s biggest union filed two grievances with the agency on Friday, challenging the Trump administration’s termination of remote work and telework.

The grievances allege that the contract between the American Federation of Government Employees Council 238 and the Environmental Protection Agency, signed in July, has provisions on both remote work and telework that must be honored.

The contract states that the eligibility to telework is to be based on “job functions and not managerial preference,” and addresses the kinds of work that are suitable for telework, including reviewing and writing, report writing, research, analytical work, and virtual meetings, according ...
