EPA to Seek Public Input on $3 Billion Community Equity Grants

The EPA is looking to environmental justice advocates and the public on how to spend $3 billion in community grant funding Congress provided under the new climate law, agency officials said.

The law’s Environmental and Climate Justice Block Grant spending will steer resources to community-led efforts to help disadvantaged areas disproportionately affected by climate change and pollution, part of an infusion of funding under the climate legislation known as the Inflation Reduction Act (Public Law 117-169) signed into law in August.
