EPA to Appeal Ruling Requiring Limits on Fluoride in Water

The EPA is appealing a September court ruling requiring the agency to regulate fluoride in drinking water.

The Environmental Protection Agency filed the notice of appeal Friday in Food and Water Watch v. EPA to the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

The agency didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

Senior Judge Edward M. Chen with the US District Court for the Northern District of California ruled that there is an unreasonable risk of injury to children from fluoride levels in drinking water, demanding a regulatory response.
