The EPA on Thursday started building out its regional leadership team, appointing new heads of its South Central and Midwest offices.
Scott Mason IV, former head of the Environmental Protection Agency’s American Indian Environmental Office, will become the head of Region 6, covering Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and 66 Tribal Nations.
Region 6 is home to many oil and gas export terminals, Superfund sites, and environmental justice communities plagued by legacy pollution.
