The EPA unveiled $4.6 billion in grant funding on Wednesday for projects that cut climate pollution and speed the transition to clean energy in communities across the US.
The program, the latest in a series launched under last year’s climate law, will be paid out of a $27 billion Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund. The green bank is meant to encourage private capital to come off the sidelines for clean technology, with a special focus on low-income and disadvantaged communities.
