EPA Revising Legal Toolbox to Tackle Environmental Inequity

The Environmental Protection Agency is weeks away from releasing an updated roadmap detailing all of the legal tools it can bring to bear to promote environmental equity in marginalized communities that have borne the brunt of pollution for decades.

The document will update an Obama-era review of environmental statutes from the Clean Air Act to the Safe Drinking Water Act that can be wielded to advance environmental equity, according to Marianne Engelman-Lado, EPA’s deputy general counsel for environmental initiatives.
