EPA Revises Rubber Chemical’s Air Emissions Lower as Meeting Set

A scientific panel advising the EPA will critique the agency’s conclusion that companies making tires and other rubber-based products release lesser amounts of 1,3-butadiene into the air, which reduces the amount that could get into people and the environment.

The Environmental Protection Agency announced on Monday that the Science Advisory Committee on Chemicals (SACC) meeting it previously delayed will take place April 1-4, with a preparatory session on March 25 where the panel can clarify the revised charge questions the agency has asked it to address.
