The Environmental Protection Agency is proposing updates to Title V regulations that would curtail the list of requirements that must be reviewed in the operating permit process.
The proposal, published in the Federal Register on Tuesday, “clarifies the limited situations” that would be examined by Title V oversight authorities when companies apply for permits for new operations. The proposal also says that operator duties to prevent accidental emissions releases are not on the list of “applicable requirements” under the Title V review process.
