EPA Orders PFAS Producers to Submit More Harm-Relevant Data (1)

Five companies that make or have produced one PFAS must provide the EPA basic information to help it understand the chemical’s potential to move through and build up in the environment.

The Environmental Protection Agency announced on Wednesday that is has ordered the Chemours Co., Daikin America Inc., E. I. Du Pont de Nemours and Co., Innovative Chemical Technologies Inc., and Sumitomo Corporation of Americas to provide toxicity, bioaccumulation potential, and other data about 6:2 FTAc, a per- and polyfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS), used to manufacture plastics, resins, textiles, apparel, leather, and other chemicals.
