EPA Must Update Lead Paint Standards, Ninth Circuit Rules (1)

The Environmental Protection Agency must reconsider its dust-lead health standards, update the definition of lead-based paint, and update its soil-lead standards, the Ninth Circuit said Friday in a win for environmental groups.

The Sierra Club, California Communities Against Toxics, and other environmental groups filed their petition for review in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit after the agency issued its hazard standards for lead in 2019.
