EPA Must Oversee Sewer System Repair in Illinois, Judge Says

The US EPA and Illinois EPA must monitor a city’s compliance with obligations to fix its sewer system, according to a federal judge who said that he was “gravely concerned” with the agencies’ lack of action.

“The court is very concerned with the plaintiffs’ claims being set to languish without concrete and diligent actions from the agencies,” Judge David W. Dugan of the US District Court for the Southern District of Illinois said.
