EPA Invites Views on Health, Safety Data Needs for 39 Chemicals

The EPA is seeking comment on whether it should require companies making 39 chemicals to submit health and safety information about the compounds that are under scrutiny by the agency or the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Comments are due by May 28, according to the Environmental Protection Agency’s notice scheduled to be published Wednesday. Formaldehyde, phthalates, and flame retardants are among the 39 chemicals.
