EPA, Industry Seek Ways to Speed Chemicals Reviews, Regulations

The EPA and chemical manufacturers are exploring ways to help the agency review chemicals’ risks more quickly using real world data so regulations protect people and the environment without inhibiting US industries.

Getting the Environmental Protection Agency back on track reviewing new and existing chemicals is extremely important, Douglas Troutman, assistant EPA administrator for chemical safety and pollution prevention, said Monday at a chemicals conference.
