EPA Floats Expansion of Product Labeling System, PFAS Criteria

Public input on the possible expansion of EPA labeling programs that designate consumer and institutional products made with safer chemicals is being sought by the agency, according to a Tuesday announcement.

The expanded program would help customers because a broader range of products would be certified to meet health and safety criteria, including that labeled products don’t contain intentionally added PFAS, the Environmental Protection Agency said.

The EPA released its idea through a pre-publication Federal Register notice and invited interested parties to register for an Aug. 29 webinar.
